We are looking for candidates to join the Solution Engineering team within Salesforce.org. As a Lead Solution Engineer you will be working with some of the UK and Ireland’s largest non profit organisations and charities - whether they are seeking new digital ways to engage supporters or transforming how they deliver their programs and services; whether that is supporting people living with life changing conditions, taking action on climate change, protecting animals, driving social change or even medical research that will change the world.
If you possess intellectual curiosity, great problem solving skills and an unwavering belief that the right technology can solve virtually any problem, then you are the ideal candidate for the job. Prior experience with enterprise technology selling in the charity and/or education sector, and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the challenges and needs of the sector is highly desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must. Finally, the individual should be able to understand complex technology solutions and how to leverage these to propel charitable organisations to achieve their mission. Typical day in the life of a Salesforce.org SE looks like:

  • Discover and analyse individual customer goals and challenges and map those back into the Salesforce solution portfolio

  • Plan and deliver Discovery Workshops with customers at all levels including business users, IT and executive leadership, tailoring your questioning and approach effectively to the audience.

  • Craft innovative solutions to address challenges and conceive those solutions on the Salesforce platform. Present customized story-driven demonstrations aligned with key business value and solution differentiation.

  • Lead initiatives to accelerate our impact, from solutions development to enablement

  • Function effectively in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment

  • Present Salesforce technology platform, including demonstrating deep familiarity with Salesforce products, technology and security, across the entire Salesforce and Salesforce.org product portfolio - whether that is Education Cloud, Nonprofit Cloud, Sales and Service, Communities, Platform or Marketing.

  • Respond effectively to RFIs and RFPs

  • Participate in training and certifications to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in role

  • Attain quarterly and annual objectives that you will define collaboratively with your manager

  • Travel domestically and internationally

Necessary Skills

  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce solutions and technology

  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems in varied political environments

  • Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven time management & prioritization skills in a dynamic sales environment

  • Knowledge of Cloud SaaS applications, related applications, and web technology

  • Previous experience as a Solutions Engineer or Pre-Sales Consultant

  • Fluency in English, additional languages desirable
