What you’ll be doing ...

The Business Development Team is responsible for developing and qualifying revenue opportunities within their assigned territory. They generate new business opportunities to fuel the sales pipeline by conducting strategic research and cold calling. They also respond to inbound prospects and qualify in / out as appropriate, while partnering with the wider Account Executive team to manage an effective flow of opportunities into the sales pipeline. You will play a key role as you lead this highly visible and motivated Business Development Team that achieves individual, team and organisational quotas. You'll be a valuable contributor to the corporate sales strategy, while providing definition and implementation of the plan for Sales to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct leadership for our Business Development group to include items related to strategy, operational efficiency, collaboration, and sales effectiveness

  • Develop, nurture and champion a team into effective sales professionals ready for Account Executive roles in the business

  • Reporting on sales activity and forecast to senior sales management

  • Motivate individuals and your team to exceed through coaching, regular broadcast of results, and creative incentives

  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of process, efficiency, and productivity

We're considering applicants with skills and experience closely aligned with the following:

  • Experience in sales management or sales development management, preferably in technology environment, with a consistent proven track record of achievement

  • Experience successfully managing people to achieve performance goals

  • Successful track record in a high volume transaction sales environment

  • Outstanding communication, organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent presentation and listening skills

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to hire and train new business development representatives
