On behalf of Volkswagen Financial Services, we are searching for their next Salesforce Lead Developer Marketing Cloud (f/m/d).

Job Summary


As recruiting partner of Volkswagen Financial Services we are looking for a Lead Developer - Salesforce Marketing Cloud (f/m/d) to join the Digital Program and the Salesforce Platform team that are working on the next generation CRM platform for marketing & sales strategic initiatives. You will be either based out of the Berlin office or the central headquarters office located in Braunschweig, Niedersachsen with the flexibility for remote work.

As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the system accurately meets the CRM program targets and that the established objectives of the business partners are met by ensuring that performance and security requirements are closely monitored, and that adequate testing is conducted within the project teams. You will be responsible to ensure that all the developers follow the software quality standards agreed upon by the Salesforce Platform team and that the delivered work is completed to the highest possible standard. You act as an expert in systems software engineering that undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. You can handle conflicting directions and resolve conflicts, if necessary.


What You Will Be Doing
  • Using Salesforce Marketing Cloud's features and best practices, to translate business requirements into a viable, scalable solution
  • You will provide technical leadership within the CRM Salesforce Marketing Cloud development team: define implementation standards for the (external) development teams, make well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous systems' software engineering issues
  • Collaborating with the Product Owner from Business side and the Marketing Cloud development teams and ensure the usage of the defined standards, tools, and architecture
  • Maintain best practices for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including deployment, integration, troubleshooting, naming conventions, list management, etc.
  • You oversee preparation and maintenance of system documentation using established department artefact standards and methodologies (Jira, Confluence)
  • You communicate common goals and direction for development team, acts as a source of direction, training, and guidance for development staff, and you ensure that the technological decisions will be communicated and implemented by all developer teams
  • You review progress and evaluate results to include code reviews, build readiness, and deployment activities, recommends changes in procedures
  • You ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency, evaluate alternative approaches in design of application systems, including assessment of risks and benefits associated with each alternative
What You Bring To The Job
  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Computer Science
  • Experience as Cloud Architect/Developer/Administrator or Consultant including one of the following certifications: Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Administrator or Marketing Cloud Consultant
  • Experience in steering of external vendors (offshore or nearshore)?
  • Expert knowledge of program design, coding, testing and/or documentation (code review to assure delivered work completed by standards - Rollout Marketing Cloud artefacts across various business units)
  • Knowledge in all Marketing Cloud Builders and Studios, including Mobile Connect and /or the Email Personalization Builder
  • Experience in building integrations between Marketing Cloud and third-party platforms, including scenarios using (REST and/or SOAP) APIs
  • Extensive experience in designing and building solutions (with AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript and/or Guide Template Language)
  • Relational database fundamentals, ETL methods, data management, and segmentation best practices should all be well understood
  • Understanding of security controls and considerations in Marketing Cloud
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and solution-oriented in cross-functional, international teams within a collaborative environment; this means clear communication and respect for different cultures and different ways of thinking
