Information Technology Services (ITS) is the central IT organization for Florida State University (FSU), providing IT support and technology leadership to a diverse community of more than 50,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and retirees. ITS partners with the FSU community to deliver world-class technology services to support the teaching, research and administrative mission of Florida State University. We strive to make IT easier for the students, faculty and staff who learn, teach, conduct research and work at Florida State University. The Community Engagement Technology (CET) team delivers engagement technologies that the university uses to support workflow and understand and improve the student, faculty, and staff experience. This position reports to the Director of the CET team.

Responsibilities
This is a senior level position responsible for the overall architecture of FSU’s Salesforce platform including developing and designing advanced architectural enterprise and college/ departmental level cloud-based applications on the Salesforce platform including the suite of Salesforce products and other 3rd party technologies. Manages the architecture and design of the Salesforce platform at FSU including all solutions and components (i.e., org structure, integrations, security, custom configurations, development). Develops and designs the architecture for enterprise and college/dept. cloud-based applications with the suite of Salesforce products and other 3rd party technologies. Translates functional requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the platform, with a goal of scalability. Provides technical analysis and architecture for proposed solutions. Articulates the benefits and risks to a solution’s feasibility and functionality. Collaborates with the team and stakeholders on the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements; configures and develops as needed. Builds and monitors a technical roadmap for CRM and digital engagement technology services. Demonstrates strong leadership skills in all stages of the software development life cycle. Follows and understands new Salesforce product and technical capabilities. Architects' solutions that meet the strategic direction of community engagement technologies. Collaborates and understands the broader system environment and plans for evolutionary paths with the technologies. Reviews design elements and signs off on the overall technical design. Ensures that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the stakeholder, that proper testing is conducted, and performance and security requirements are closely monitored, and that the architectural choices are optimal given launched applications. Leads code reviews and participates in designing and executing test plans. Collaborates with the team to manage releases. Provides technical expertise, research, and analysis concerning complex application development related to the Salesforce platform. Provides hands-on, expert-level technical assistance to developers. Coaches and mentors junior technical and functional team members. Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards. Proactively engages on continuous improvement efforts for application design, support, and practice development efforts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six years' experience or a combination appropriate education and experience. Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to interface business applications with other systems. Ability to interpret complex written specifications and conditions. Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field. Knowledge of information technology security measures. As the ideal candidate, you will enthusiastically jump in on day one and put to use your understanding of the Salesforce platform, understanding of EDA, org strategy, and how to maximize OOTB features to minimize technology debt. You are focused on the architecture and willing to configure with the other developers and administrators on the team. Preferred
Active Salesforce certifications (Admin, Developer, Architect) or ability to achieve relevant certifications while in the role (Developer, Architect)
2+ years of recent Salesforce platform experience with Lightning
Experience with SFDC or other CRM architecture a plus
Other Information
Due to the complexity of work and highly specialized role, all job duties are suitable, on an ongoing basis, to be performed remotely. Remote based on Highly Skilled Recruitment need required ongoing approval each time position is vacated. This position is eligible for remote work.
