Programmer III (Programmer)

This position is responsible for performing highly complex (senior-level) computer programming work in the Information Technology Services office of TDI. Primary programming will include configuration and development on Salesforce Lightning platform. Work will involve support of existing applications and creation of new applications. Work may also be conducted on other rapid application development platforms, such as Microsoft PowerApps. May assist in training and mentoring the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

This position:

-configures, codes, tests, and debugs software;

-compiles and documents code and procedures used throughout development;

-assists in preparing documentation to guide end users;

-analyzes, reviews, and reformats code to improve performance or adapt new procedures;

-assists in developing software requirements for proposed software solutions, including the preparation of detailed analyses, plans, and testing procedures;

-assists in testing applications in all environments; and

-performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires:

-graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in computer science, math, engineering, or other related field; and

-two years’ recent programming experience in Salesforce Lightning.

Note:

Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Preferences for this position include:

-two years’ recent programming experience in Microsoft PowerApps;

-two years’ working experience building SharePoint document approval workflows;

-two years’ working experience with Agile Scrum or Test Driven Development Methodologies;

-working knowledge of ITIL- and OWASP-based best practices; and

-experience coding to the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAA).

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

-the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis; and

-Salesforce Lightning platform application development.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

-technical problem solving, decision making and planning;

-effective written and verbal communication; and

-computer programming.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

-communicate in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing;

-establish and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels, including internal and external customers;

-work both collaboratively and independently;

-maintain clear file organization and output, ensuring code is written following modern best practices;

-apply critical thinking to analyze software problems and develop solutions, utilizing proper application security and necessary data protections;

-prepare program specifications and documentation;

-code, test, and debug scripts;

-communicate effectively with technical and lay audiences;

-work flexible hours as necessary;

-maintain strict confidentiality of information; and

-follow ethical standards.
