Overview:Sands Capital is seeking a talented Salesforce Administrator with a strong background in driving Salesforce adoption across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have proven skill in applying expert analysis and design techniques to master complex enterprise data in Salesforce. They will have experience managing Salesforce, including configuring the platform for various types of business contacts, implementing and re-designing screens and data fields, managing data security and permissions, troubleshooting issues, and providing end-user support.The ideal candidate will also have broad knowledge of integrating various data sources both up and downstream, as well as the capabilities/limitations of the Salesforce platform. They will provide innovative solutions for a variety of complex problems and prepare overall system design and configuration recommendations. They will demonstrate pro-activeness, an eagerness to learn, willingness to take on any task with a positive, “can-do” attitude, ability to build trusted relationships, and desire to work collaboratively with business and technology team members.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a data-focused, agile environment while managing a growing Salesforce implementation, with experience creating workflows, reports, dashboards, and processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity.
Although Sands Capital presently operates in a “work from home” environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we expect this person to work from Sands Capital’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia when it is safe to do so.Responsibilities:

  • Serving as primary system administrator for the Salesforce platform
  • Partnering with business and the technology teams to define, document and implement new/enhanced workflows in Salesforce supporting the goals of the business development, client service, marketing, and internal/external communications teams
  • Creating and reviewing designs for new solutions including evaluating, scoping, designing, and delivering new features, data sets and reports/dashboards
  • Providing technical and functional support to users of Salesforce and related applications
  • Handling all basic administrative functions, including user account maintenance, configuring screens, fields, dashboards and reports, and other routine tasks
  • Designing, testing, and validating data feeds and other integrations into the Salesforce platform
  • Assisting with training of new users, and growing the Salesforce skill set across the organization
  • Effectively acting as the liaison between platform users, vendors, data analysts and software engineers
  • Testing and documenting changes to the system
  • Developing training material as needed, and providing one-on-one/group training to end-users
  • Keeping up to date with Salesforce releases, features, and best practices
  • Supporting the team with other projects and tasks, as needed
  • Exhibiting behaviors consistent with Sands Capital’s mission, values, and cultureQualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience working as a Salesforce Administrator
  • Salesforce Administrator Certifications (including ADM201 and ADM211)
  • Pardot Specialist Credential
  • Strong data management abilities
  • Excellent client service and communication skills, including strong ability to determine client needs and provide appropriate solutions
  • Knowledge of Salesforce configuration (including the use of third-party tools)
  • Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity
  • Ability to recommend and establish best practices on development methodologies to optimize cost and speed time to results
  • Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption
  • Experience managing a production environment including deployment, data migration, configuration, access control and security
  • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
  • A demonstrated ability to understand (and articulate) complex requirements
  • Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment

  • Be able to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Be able to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes
