Commerce Architect (Salesforce Commerce Cloud) – Tech Consulting Senior

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Commerce Architect, you will be an integral part of our technology consulting organization that leverages current leading commerce software products to create great digital experiences for our clients. Assist clients on new technology delivery, maintenance and the future commerce roadmap in various eCommerce technologies. You will play a critical role in the development lifecycle, designing solutions that meet business requirements, coding, and testing online stores.


More specifically, you will:

  • Partner closely with the product and creative divisions, providing broad technical and functional knowledge of various key technology and business platforms, to develop the best solutions for the business and provide a best in the industry experience.

  • Lead complex design and build efforts associated with digital commerce solutions following Agile & DevOps methodologies.

  • Review and participate in key architecture decisions, including creating target state digital commerce architecture blueprints and roadmaps.

  • Work with delivery lead on solution deployment approach and estimation.

  • Design and oversee the solutioning of ecommerce application architecture and integration to the broad enterprise architecture.

  • Automate tools, processes and technology to allow for greater engineering throughput, quality and progress.

  • Ensure best practices are followed by enforcing coding standards (SDLC guidelines), JavaDocs, Unit Tests and performing code reviews.

  • Ensure all components are documented.

  • Support and troubleshoot production issues.

  • Lead team members in developing applicable methodologies, tools, approaches, points of view, thought leadership and accelerators to differentiate EY in the Digital and Emerging Technology Consulting market.

  • Team with client technology professionals, and third-party strategic alliances.

  • Work in project teams through agreed upon phases of project governance, requirements definition, vendor selection, risk analysis, customization, design, development, testing, training and rollout of a client's project lifecycle.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or Mathematics or related field of study and 5 years of related progressive post bachelor’s experience or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or Mathematics or related field of study and 4 years of related experience.

  • 4 years of professional services or consulting experience

  • 3 years of experience in architecting digital commerce solutions using Salesforce Commerce Cloud

  • Combined 6 years of experience with 4 of the following skills:

  • Commerce application Development

  • Web application development – Angular, Node, HTML, CSS, React, Bootstrap

  • Back End API Development – Microservices, Java, PHP

  • Database fundamentals, configuration andadministration

  • Application performance tuning (incl. mobile-specific tuning)

  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery

  • Agile, Dev Ops Development methodologies

  • Experience working with offshore teams and leading teams of technology professionals


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with site reliability engineering

  • Experience with Application Security

  • Experience with Unit Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing

  • Experience with OMS - Salesforce OMS AND Sterling OMS preferred

What we offer


We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $88,300 to $145,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $106,000 to $165,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
