What We Are Looking For
NEP is currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our Information Technology team as the Salesforce Administrator. The Salesforce Administrator will work as part of a team to lead the ongoing development of our Salesforce.com deployment. The successful candidate will have a record of success in improving processes and adoption using the Force.com platform. The administrator will work closely with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify, develop, and deploy new business processes, including our core program business processes. This role is part technical project manager, part administrator and part Salesforce analyst. The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for the executing on the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and improvement of our CRM platform.
Essential Functions
  • Technical Implementation
    • Develop proficiency in their working technology
    • Implement technical solutions as designed by senior team members in a timely manner
    • Troubleshoot problems as they arise with production systems as well as project work
    • Assist senior engineers and other team members as necessary to develop and design technical solutions
    • Communicate project issues/risks to team as appropriate
  • System Administration
    • Serve as primary administrator for Salesforce environments
    • Handle all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks
    • Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades
    • Manage Salesforce.com data feeds and other integrations
    • Coordinate the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests
    • Work with our institutional management team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities
    • Assist in training of new users, and grow the Salesforce.com skill set across the organization
    • Effectively act as the liaison between our users, vendors and the application development teams
    • Work independently with members of the user community to define and document development requirements

    • Manage daily support and maintenance of internal Salesforce instance, and conduct long-term improvement operations to ensure compatibility with evolving mission requirements

    • Analyze and evaluate new technologies and determine if they can provide a positive impact to our software systems
    • Continue to develop technical skills either by attending seminars (online, in person, etc) or by purchasing books, etc
    • Continue to challenge themselves by assisting development leads in monitoring project status, developing project plans and other project leadership roles so that they gain an understanding of the environment we are developing in.

  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes
  • Able to automate business processes using Salesforce automation tools, such as Process Builder, Workflows, Formulas, Flow, Assignment Rules and email Alerts
  • Participates in the deployment of new technology.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with coworkers, internal customers, and other project team members
  • Consults with end-users on system requirements; understands, recommends, and provides technical advice
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and maintains a positive, professional image
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
  • 4 years of experience in Salesforce Administration, Salesforce certification a plus
  • Experience in higher education and HEDA model preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
