 The Chief Digital Transformation Office (CDTO) offers an opportunity to shape and drive VMware’s Digital Transformation to enable Operations to scale and support VMware’s growth.
 We are part of Customer Experience and Success IT engineering team responsible for accelerating digital transformation of VMware’s GTM, Customer experience businesses by providing technical leadership to implementing scalable technical solutions for the critical business initiatives.

 We are on an initiative to help expand VMware’s global support, services, and success businesses by providing appropriate tools that will lay foundation for SaaS offerings thereby improving the business process efficiency and effectiveness.

 This high visibility Techno-functional Architect role provides a unique opportunity to grow your career by deepening your product engineering expertise and providing solution design opportunities. You will have opportunities to participate in functional, domain specific solution architecture design discussions with product owners, by presenting data and valuable points of consideration to resolve problems. This implementation experience is critical for anyone with a passion in product engineering looking to broaden their technical acumen.

 What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
  •  Within 30 days of employment, become competent with VMware’s global support, success, and services business processes and implementations.
  •  Within 60 days of employment, develop technical designs, architectural solutions with end-to-end processes, using industry best practices.
  •  Be a key contributor in developing technical architectural frameworks Salesforce Lightning/Aura/LWC and modern web technologies.
  •  You will work closely with architects and product owners to design and implement right level of non-functional needs such as quality, scalability, performance, flexibility, modularity, maintainability etc.
  •  Develop prototypes for new foundational product capabilities.
  •  Research broader technological capabilities, new features as needed to suit business requirements

 What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
 Required Skills:
  •  Partner with business and service owners to analyze business requirements and develop hands on end-to-end technical solutions
  •  Design solutions for scale applying architecture frameworks, best practices and principles (quality, performance, flexibility, modularity, maintainability etc.)
  •  Deep understanding and knowledge with enterprise scale integration patterns and microservices frameworks
  •  Engages with other architects regarding technical architecture and architect creative solutions that solves business and technical problems
  •  Leads proof of concepts and hands on coding in Apex programming, Lightning (Aura and LWC), APIs development and integrations
  •  Provides overall Salesforce and ecosystem technical expertise including AI for customer service, search solutions, and Gainsight platforms
  •  Perform platform health assessment and optimizations including performance improvements, tracing and debugging using Salesforce tools (Events monitoring) and other technologies
  •  Solid understanding of Customer support and success capabilities and functional areas
  •  Builds strong relationships and mentor junior team members
  •  Ability to communicate complex technical solution to non-technical users, executive level presence and outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  •  Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies and frameworks

 What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
 You will be joining the CXS engineering team responsible for accelerating digital transformation of VMware’s Customer experience businesses by providing technical leadership to implementing scalable technical solutions for the critical business initiatives. The global team is spread throughout VMware offices including Palo Alto, CA, Boston, MA, Cork Ireland and Bangalore, IN.
 This role will be reporting to Director, IT Business Applications. The team structure is flat with access to all the leaders and their teams. We expect you to take advantage of this diverse work culture to develop yourself into a senior technical member who will execute future state technical vision with end-to-end ownership.
