General Purpose
This position will design, implement, and support data integration solutions related to customer relations management (CRM) software (Salesforce) and associated systems for the college. This position works under the Director of Data and Student Information Systems and works closely with colleagues in the department.
Job Focus
- Understand and evaluates business processes to provide software-based solutions to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Develops user-friendly systems for prospective students who are working through the enrollment process
- Performs configuration and customization of the customer relations management (CRM) software platform.
- Performs data extraction and integration, data transformation, automation of processes, security design and implementation,
- Develops professional relationships within the department and throughout the college to resolve issues and provide technical support
- Integrate multiple systems with CRM software, including student information system, financial aid systems, business resource center, etc.
- Assist with the planning of application changes, development, and installation of upgrades
- Provide technical assistance and end user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and process development
- Maintain CRM software sandbox environment for product testing and enhancements.
- Monitors and maintains data integrity, security, and data access, reporting and query writing
- Maintains and updates departmental documentation.
- Assists in developing training, training guides, and support for end users.
- Performs and designs imports/exports
- Stays current with system upgrades and releases, gathers requirements for enhancements, and implements new processes
- Upholds Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations in the use of student records.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Requires a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years of experience in a related field, preferably within an educational institution
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency working with SQL and relational databases required
- Database skills and strong knowledge of database structure and relationships
- Proven ability to design, optimize business processes and integrate business processes across systems
- Demonstrated strong analytical/problem solving skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Experience with security design and configurations, testing and assuring data integrity
- Experience writing technical and end user documentation, including scopes of work, specifications, and documents representing the functional needs of end-users on technical projects
- Demonstrable experience troubleshooting technical issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, such as executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Strong attention to detail and strong sense of customer service
- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently as well as with a team.
- Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM software packages strongly preferred
- Experience deploying solutions in a higher education environment preferred
- Experience with Student Information Systems, SSIS, Informatica, or Tableau is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Generally light office work with minimal physical requirements
- Ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
- Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers, for example, using a keyboard
