Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Salesforce Administrator (SA) will work with the TerpEngage (Salesforce) team to develop and manage the workflow process for all projects to which they are assigned. The SA will work with the UMD Salesforce project team and UMD clients to gather requirements and configure the Salesforce application based on business needs with robust documentation. The successful SA is a highly technical professional, experienced in the Salesforce platform. The SA will interface directly with internal stakeholders; understand their needs; and configure and customize the platform in order to meet new/changing business requirements. This position will assist with the full development life-cycle from technical design to development, testing, and deployment and will be responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency and capitalizing on all features and benefits of the system based on various departmental needs. The SA will act as a primary contact and a subject matter expert on complex and/or critical system issues and processes for UMD’s Salesforce CRM environment and is expected to follow established Salesforce development standards and best practices. Finally, the SA will provide high level administrative support to TerpEngage / functional leadership, generate reports, and present information when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university conferred by start date
and 2-4 years experience developing, configuring, or implementing information technology projects.

CERTIFICATION

Salesforce Administrator Certification (active as of start date). Additional information: This position is expected to start in early October 2022.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Salesforce Sales, Service and Marketing Cloud products

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality

  • Ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity

  • Strong data management abilities

  • Ability to understand and articulate complex requirements

  • Ability to meet deadlines; handle and prioritize simultaneous requests

  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and translate user requirements into technical solutions

Preferences:
  • Experience with Salesforce in a higher-ed or non-profit sector
  • Familiarity with the University of Maryland organizational and data structures
  • Experience with ETL data methodologies (preferably experience with Informatica)
  • Proficiency in the EnrollmentRx suite of applications, powered by Salesforce
