THE ROLE
 
 Salesforce's Private Equity (PE) Practice works with our strategic Private Equity partners to accelerate value creation in their portfolio companies through digital transformation, leveraging the Salesforce platform, ISVs and the broader ecosystem. Reporting into the Strategy and Operations lead, you will be responsible for supporting the overall portfolio success of our strategic Private Equity (PE) firms. We are looking for an exceptional Customer Success professional who understands what it takes to drive value across a customer's portfolio. You will leverage deep business, industry and product knowledge to partner closely with our priority PE firms and accelerate their value creation agenda across their portfolio. In your role, you will work directly with our senior PE team and the PE firms to understand their value creation goals, identify the ways their Salesforce investments can accelerate those goals and develop an actionable roadmap to achieve the desired outcomes.
 
 This role will deepen our partnerships with our target PE firms through portfolio reviews, PE portfolio renewals and governance, escalation management, best practice sales programs and plays, and by bringing data-driven insights to both our internal and PE stakeholders. You will lead the development of our Portfolio Performance Management offerings for our targeted PE firms and build deep relationships into our existing Customer Success Group, developing repeatable and scalable solutions that bring value to our PE partners and create potential for future commercialisation opportunities. As a Global role, you will have exposure to multiple geographies with differing needs and extensive opportunities to grow your career at Salesforce.
 
 RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Develop repeatable and scalable processes to address escalations across our strategic Private Equity firms’ portfolios 
  • Conduct portfolio reviews for our priority PE relationships 
  • Develop and deliver a PE-focused approach to Quarterly Business / Strategy Reviews 
  • Review and embed a PE-focused renewals and governance process 
  • Develop best practice sales programs and plays that drive value for our PE firms and their portfolio companies 
  • Define, measure and report on key Portfolio Performance metrics across our partnerships 
  • Design and build a robust analytics infrastructure that provides rapid insight into portfolio performance 
  • Understand the Salesforce product suite and be able to help our PE firms extract maximum value from their Salesforce investment 
  • Proactively identify opportunities for increased adoption of Salesforce investments, including current state, target state and accompanying adoption plan 
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities to a PE firm’s value creation goals for particular portfolio companies 
  • Collaborate closely with our existing Customer Success and Sales Programs teams and understand how the Salesforce offerings meet the needs of our PE firm portfolios 
  • Define, design and deliver a clear Portfolio Performance methodology and scale across our team and the broader Salesforce business 
  • Lead internal and external portfolio performance reviews to assess operational metrics/effectiveness on a recurring basis with leadership 
  • Be an advocate for portfolio success and value creation, driving the Private Equity agenda across our internal stakeholders and broader PE industry 
  • Be able to clearly articulate the value of Salesforce across B2B and B2C Private Equity owned portfolio companies 
  • Understand the intricacies, politics, and strategies required to execute a partnership program 
  • Act as an advocate for the partnership within the Private Equity firm and at Salesforce 
  • Work collaboratively with the PE practice, the account team of relevant portfolio companies and Salesforce Execs, effectively networking within from the Executive-Level down, in order to help the PE firm achieve their objectives 
  • When appropriate, recommend additional Salesforce services and advisory experts needed to drive success 
  • Opportunity to explore commercialisation opportunities for any unique insights or success offerings that are developed 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 
  • You will have deep expertise in Customer Success and/or portfolio management where you have worked closely with a customer or portfolio of customers to maximise business value. 
  • You will have experience guiding companies on their transformation journeys and identifying areas for best practices and improvement. 
  • You will have experience defining business value for customers, developing a clear roadmap to deliver that value and executing against it with measurable outcomes. 
  • You will have knowledge of Salesforce product and platform features, capabilities, and best practices. 
  • You have exposure to working at the C-level, with evidence of gaining deep insight into the business dynamics of large enterprises and across industries, as well as articulate the organisation impacts brought by technology. 
  • You will have exceptional communication and influencing skills, as well as a track record of thriving in complex, multi-disciplinary teams. 
  • You have a high tolerance for ambiguity; ability to focus and execute in a rapidly changing environment, take charge and make things happen. 
  • You will be an independent, self-starter with strong work ethic and personal drive and character qualities that match with our company’s core values and inspire others to follow and act. 
  • You will have a superior ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. 
  • You will have exposure to working internationally, both with international clients and on international teams. 
  • You will be degree educated with excellent business/professional English communication skills.


 DESIRED EXPERIENCE 
  • Top tier consulting firm background, with M&A, strategy or digital transformation experience 
  • Able to articulate the importance and value of Governance to Business and IT executives 
  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture principles strongly preferred 
  • Ability to quickly grasp and distinctly explain technological and business concepts 
  • Data analytics experience across Tableau, Tableau CRM (Einstein Analytics), SQL 
  • You will be confident discussing IRR, ROI, TCO, business case development in the context of LBOs. 
  • Experience in the Private Equity, Venture Capital or M&A industry
