Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field at least two days a week and telecommute remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days.

About Technology Services
The Technology Services Department (TS) of the City and County of Denver is using state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to deliver and improve the systems, applications and operations that we deliver to our customers. Technology Services supports the people, agencies and ideas that make the City and County of Denver world class city. About Application Services
The Application Services division provides software solutions that increase efficiency, automate processes, improve customer service, and achieve city objectives. Applications partners with city agencies/department to assess technology needs, identify solutions, ensure regulatory compliance, and validate that expectations are met. From citywide platforms to business specific tools, this division handles the procurement, development, implementation, integration, quality assurance/testing, maintenance, and support for more than 300 applications, including their underlying systems and databases.

As the Salesforce Architect, you will play a key role in creating well-architected Salesforce solutions to meet the needs of various agencies and departments across the City and County of Denver. The primary focus of this position will be to serve as a Salesforce technical subject matter expert to both a cross-functional implementation team and to our agency partners while developing high quality code and configuration based on customer requests and Salesforce platform best practices.
Additionally, as a Salesforce Architect, you will:
  • Lead the design of complex or large scale Salesforce solutions and integrations with other systems including creating specifications and documentation.
  • Provide guidance during evaluation of a business requirement and how it can be met with either point-and-click configuration or code and customization.
  • Provide technical guidance and be a technical mentor to the Salesforce team.
  • Participate in application design, lightning component coding, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Consult with other application architects as well as project and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions comply with application architecture standards; proactively identify circumstances when it may be necessary to modify architecture to accommodate project needs.
  • Conduct code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure high code quality and design patterns are followed.
  • Research (and prototype if needed) new Salesforce product and technical capabilities resulting from product releases and acquisitions.
About You
We are looking for someone with some or all the following skills and experience:
  • At least 3 years of development and/or 1 year of architecture experience with the Salesforce platform
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with users both verbally and in written communications.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lay out a vision of success and move efforts along, motivate the team to do their best, and engage in various projects and solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Self-starter that can manage multiple tasks and effectively set priorities while responding to changing priorities.

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional information technology experience developing and maintaining enterprise-wide applications architecture, to include two years at the type and of the level of the Applications Architect Associate.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
