We're looking for exceptional candidates to join the Salesforce.org Solution Engineering team as a Lead Platform Architect. A successful Platform Architect has the strong technical experience and enjoys designing innovative solutions and working directly with customers to meet their business needs. Leveraging the full range of Salesforce technologies including the core Platform, low code and programmatic solutions, Heroku, Identity and key applications including NonProfit and Education Cloud, the Platform Architect has a deep technical understanding of Salesforce and how it can drive value for our customers and support their mission.

Job Description:


The Lead Platform Architect will act as a domain expert to sales teams on the Salesforce platform and how it can be used for maximum impact according to the needs of the customers. With a technical Salesforce background, the Platform Architect will be comfortable discussing and demonstrating all aspects of the Salesforce platform including core CRM, Experience Cloud and Platform, and with a focus on technical aspects including security, integration, data management and declarative/programmatic extensions to IT and business audiences up to CxO level. With a strong blend of technical and sales skills, the Platform Architect uses a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements and to help the sales teams develop and refine a technical sales strategy and Salesforce solution fit. They will also work in close collaboration with the core Solution Engineering team to provide a technical expertise overlay.

Typical day in the life :

  • Present the full Salesforce technology stack , including demonstrating deep familiarity with the company’s platform capabilities, hosting infrastructure, security, data management and integration solutions
  • Understand the customer needs and establish the right products as the best solution that addresses the technical and business requirements, driven through discovery workshops with the customer and collaboration with the Sales and SE teams.
  • Build and present customised demos or workshops using the full Salesforce technology stack including declarative and programmatic capabilities of the Platform
  • Conduct technical workshops and education sessions such as App Innovation Workshops
  • Manage and support customer technical due diligence and respond to technical questions
  • Lead initiatives to accelerate our impact, from solutions development to enablement
  • Assist sales teams in responses to RFPs and technical requirements documents
  • Provide regular technical enablement to cross-functional roles in the Salesforce.org organization
  • Participate in all appropriate product, sales, and procedural training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in the position
  • Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management
  • Function effectively in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment
  • Travel domestically and internationally


Experience/Skills Required :

  • Deep technical understanding of the Salesforce platform and architectures
  • Experience with platform and development aspects of Salesforce (including for example programmatic, Heroku, Mulesoft, security, flow, identity)
  • Previous development experience in Salesforce or web based languages
  • Knowledge or experience of the Non Profit and/or Education sectors
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems in varied political environments
  • Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven time management & prioritization skills in a dynamic sales environment
  • Previous experience as a Solutions Engineer or Pre-Sales Consultant
  • Fluency in English, additional languages desirable
