Job Description:

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States. The position will need to work East coast hours.

Position Summary:
Red Cross seeks a Scrum Master to join our team Salesforce CoE IT team. As a Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in the planning, development, and execution of product roadmaps for existing products as well as new product development. You will collaborate with external stakeholders and cross-functional groups to communicate plans, dependencies, risks/issues, and resource requests in support of the Salesforce workstream. You will coach and motivate the team, take the lead in removing obstacles impeding product enhancements, and support projects for changes that will ensure quality, timeliness, and a successful product(s).

What You'll Get to Do:
  • Work with the team to lead the development of roadmaps, planning, and manage team backlog. Work closely with Product Owner on backlog grooming and requirements validation. Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
  • Proactively identify issues and risks and create successful action and/or mitigation plans. Escalate and communicate risks/issues with stakeholders, the leadership team and through status reporting.
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint progress to all affected teams and management with close attention to dependencies, adherence to product roadmaps and demonstrated value.
  • Organize and facilitate sprint planning, daily scrum events, sprint reviews, retrospectives, release planning, demos, and other scrum-related events. Provide overall management for teams and be accountable for results.
  • Identify project resource needs, coordinate with resource management lead to identify assigned resources, define project team member roles and responsibilities, and ensure healthy team dynamics by leading, coaching and motivating team members to meet project goals and commitments and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Coach teams on the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, accountability, transparency, and self-organization. Accountable for process documentation and continuously evaluates team processes for maximum output and value through the application of scrum knowledge and selected tools like Jira and/or Confluence.

Qualifications:
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) a plus
  • 5+ years of CSM experience required
  • Technical depth and aptitude in web-related technologies like React, NodeJS packages etc.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Detailed organizational skills and ability to manage large scale dispersed teams
  • Proficient with JIRA, Confluence, PowerPoint, and Excel and Google Workspace equivalents
  • Strong communication skills and English fluency
  • Agile / PMP Certification is a bonus

Software
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence/Teams and Sharepoint

Education:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of on-the-job experience required.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.

Work Conditions: Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to emergency services relief work. May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Because the Red Cross is a disaster response organization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.

For those candidates located in Colorado & Connecticut, the salary range for this position is: $110K - 125K +/- annual salary. We do not offer bonus pay for this role. Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the job or employee resides.
