Basic Purpose
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer implements Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions that adhere to platform best practices. Participate in architecture design or lead development workstreams, from design through testing and deployment. The role will also serve as the engineer responsible to configure, develop, and integrate the platform. Candidate filling the role will be responsible for the code, configure, test, and debug new campaigns, including data configuration, Mobile Studio work, Email Studio work, Journey builder, email distributions, audience creation, and utilization of capabilities in the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Platform. The candidate should have a history of having engineered successful solutions with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and technically capable to support technically complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Salesforce Marketing Cloud technology expert responsible for design and technical implementation
- Translate business and marketing challenges into well-designed solutions
- Design, develop, and manage solutions for Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Create and configure various templates, Business Units, and automation within marketing cloud
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of SFMC, including platform management and reporting
- Collaborate with Business and Product teams to understand the requirements and facilitate adequate notification solutions for all channels (email, sms & push)
- Conduct research and analysis; make recommendations for business requirements
- Serve as mentor/trainer to provide guidance and assistance to team members
- Design solution to integrate with platform
- Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with business goals
- Troubleshoot and resolve application/solution problems
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or the equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with designing, configuring, and implementing solutions for Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform
- Extensive knowledge of Business Units, Mobile Studio, Email studio, Web Studio, Content Builder, Journey builder
- Hands-on experience on email templates and SMS templates development
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, understanding of relational databases, and SQL
- Experienced in server-side API development
- Advanced knowledge of application development including determining, developing, testing, and implementing system requirements; designing, coding, debugging applications
- Skills for applying innovative approaches to solve technical design issues
- Experienced in designing and deploying new, upgraded and/or existing systems
- Experienced in resolving conflicting requests and meeting changing requirements
- Advanced skill troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
Desired
- Knowledge of CDP (Customer Data Platform)
- Knowledge of DevOps principles
- Experience with Azure DevOps tools to deliver solutions using Agile Methodology
- Understanding of Agile and Kanban
- Understanding of CRM systems
- Understanding of IIB (IBM Integration Bus)
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

- Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, this position will be temporarily working from home with plans to return to campus at the desired location listed once Navy Federal is back to normal operations. The specific logistics for returning to campus will be determined at a future date by individual leadership.
Salary: Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain
competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.
The salary range for this position is: $95,600 to $163,500 Annual
