The role
The rundown: The Charity has ambitious plans for growth in
order to support creating a fair educational for all, Technology
plays a vital role in the success of the Charity. Technology
partners with employees across the charity to make sure we
leverage the power of technology. We provide creative
solutions, responsive services and reliable access to an
enabling infrastructure.
As a Salesforce Developer, you will work alongside in-house
administrators, BAs and a Salesforce Technical Lead to
clarify requirements, configure, design, develop and deploy
Salesforce solutions. You will work with your colleagues on
leading exciting, transformative Salesforce projects, as part of
an organisation-wide transformation, whilst at the same time
making continuous improvements to our current Salesforce
instance so that Teach First’s day-to-day business activities
continue to be supported.
The detail: day-to-day work
- Constant improvement to the existing code base, includingits performance, structure, reusability, exception handling,
and ability to deal with larger record volumes
- Improve the coverage and test scenarios within existingtest classes, and develop and maintain a reusable Test
Utils
- Always applying best practice and applying codingstandards to your work
- Maintain and develop new functionality on an existingSalesforce org on classic
- Assisting Salesforce Admins with day-to-day administrativeactivities when priorities and workloads shift, including end
user tickets (e.g. access issues, reporting) and third party
app configuration (e.g. DocuSign, Zapier, iCapture)
- Often work under tight time constraints as the charity flexesto external pressures
- Work on an exciting new transformation programme whichsees us building Salesforce from the ground up
You’ll take ownership for:
- Maintenance of all aspects of new and existing coderesiding on Salesforce, covering all uses of Apex,
JavaScript, VisualForce, Aura and Lightning Web
Components
- Analysis and implementation of enhancements and newrequirements, including impact assessment of changes to
the production system.
- Support and maintain development on the Marketing Cloudplatform from a scripting perspective
- Estimating complexity of build in order to inform thebusiness and help prioritisation
- Diagnosis and resolution of technical errors
- Create and maintain clear and concise documentation ofsystem design and development
- Work with internal and external suppliers to translatefunctional specifications into technical specifications
- Ensure you are delivering projects in accordance toexpected benefits and stakeholder engagement
About you
The essentials:
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certifications
- Deep understanding of the Force.com platform features andfunctionality available
- Broad a experience within the realms of Sales Cloud,Service Cloud, and Community Cloud, both in the context of
classic and Lightning Experience
- Experience building slick custom User Interfaces on theSalesforce Platform, and performant Apex code, with
expertise across Visualforce, Lightning Web Components,
Aura Components, and a good understanding of User
Experience best practices.
- Proven experience and expertise developing outboundintegrations and custom REST resources on Salesforce, and
a clear understanding of the best options for inbound
integrations given any particular scenario, with the ability to
explain and support these inbound integrations with other
teams in Technology
- Working knowledge of Git
The nice to haves:
- Knowledge of the architecture and experience in thedevelopment around processes and data within Education
Cloud and the EDA framework
- Certified Sales Cloud Consultant, Certified Service CloudConsultant, and some of the Salesforce Architecture
certifications
- Knowledge of an experience integrating against the ZoomAPIs, DocuSign APIs
- Knowledge of and experience applying WCAG 2.0 tocustomised User Interfaces in Salesforce
