In addition, Global Campus provides a range of academic and special programs for individuals and groups at various times, in various locations, and via various modalities, including technology based programs - throughout the year. The primary audiences include workforce, military, working adults and international constituencies.
As the Salesforce Developer you'll take the lead maintaining and optimizing existing Salesforce functionality to help drive user adoption and engagement. This position will work collaboratively with the Salesforce Administrator in user management, sharing/visibility, reporting/dashboards, custom objects and fields, and automation including workflow rules, process builder and approval processes, validation rules, and data management. Additional responsibility are to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements.Responsibilities:Under the general direction of the Director of IT & Facilities, the Salesforce Developer is responsible for:
Analyst & Programming Responsibilities 70%

  • Handle all basic administrative Salesforce functions including user account maintenance, custom objects, roles and permissions, workflows, process builder, custom views, dashboards, reports, and other routine tasks.
  • Map and load data into Salesforce using a data loading tool like Apex Data Loader.
  • Manage Salesforce data replication and integrations using tools like Informatica Cloud.
  • Maintain data integrity by analyzing data and by taking the appropriate steps to ensure good practices are followed (validation rules, matching rules, and duplicate rules).
  • Develop, modify and maintain assigned process. Monitors the operation of assigned process and responds to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic.
  • Develop databases, programs and procedures necessary to integrate and/or implement the requirement. Test system and modules to fully determine its operational reliability.
  • Develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform. Build API/web service between third party application and salesforce.
  • Review user requirements and needs, perform analysis, design, implementation, installation and training related to new processes or application developed and/or acquired.
  • Analyze and plan upgrades, system configuration, and implementation based on consultations with staff.


Documentation and Training 25%
  • Document and establish an upgrade schedule.
  • Document system for user department and to align configuration to institutional standards.
  • Provide technical advice and support to users. This includes creating ad-hoc reports, data analysis and correction, training and problem solving.
  • Assist user and operating areas in implementing and supporting systems including system
  • installation, training and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in selecting applications for staff use. Maintain contact with vendors to assist support activities.


Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned 5%
  • Review and stay current with Salesforce Cloud platform and installed applications and integrations.

Knowledge & Abilities
  • Advance experience using spreadsheet tools including Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience writing SQL/relational database queries and/or scripting in Python or R
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Adept at business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Mode, Tableau, Microsoft BI
  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge of statistics, and understanding of key business concepts
  • Strong communications skills with demonstrated experience presenting data cross-functionally
  • Proven team player, delivery-focused, yet flexible and creative when called upon
  • Ability to communicate positively, tactfully and effectively with multiple stakeholders including team members, management, and customers
  • Proficient in data management tools and processes
  • Well-developed facilitation and collaboration skillsQualifications:
Minimum Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience.
  • Working knowledge of a specific industry standard applications programming language and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience using spreadsheet tools including Excel and Google Sheets
  • Previous work experience writing SQL/relational database queries and/or scripting in Python or R
  • Previous work experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • 2 years Salesforce administrator experience
  • Previous experience working with end users to gather, understand, and define business requirements
  • Previous work experience with CPQ and Communities
  • Previous work experience integrating Salesforce with other systems
  • Previous Lightning user interface experience
  • Development experience (Apex, Visualforce, JavaScript).
  • Salesforce Administrator certification. Other certifications are a plus
  • Solid background in ASP.Net, Visual Basic.Net, C#, Perl, PHP, SQL, Java
