Renewals Manager Job Description:


The Renewal Manager partners with sales, consulting, customer success and support to execute our strategy. This person is responsible for conducting account reviews, risk assessment and due diligence, developing a win-win renewal strategy, ownership and maintenance of renewal opportunities and forecast, negotiation, engaging internal resources and closing renewals prior to expiration. The Renewal Manager is responsible for securing every renewal, every time, increasing customer usage, generating and winning account growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute win/win negotiation strategies for account contract renewals that maximize contract value while protecting and enhancing the customer relationship
  • Maximize account growth opportunities by playing an active role on the account team and helping to identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities upon contract renewal
  • Own, drive and manage the renewals process in collaboration with the account team
  • Identify customer requirements, uncover roadblocks, and demonstrate strong account management capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closure
  • Provide executive management with complete visibility to renewals and solicit executive involvement as required.
  • Communicate risk clearly and take the lead in developing resolution strategies
  • Accurately maintain a rolling 120 day forecast of renewals in your territory

Required Skills/ Experience:
  • 5+ years demonstrated success in an Account Management capacity with a strong focus on negotiating services contracts
  • Experience in technology, preferably CRM or SaaS
  • Ability to work independently and to identify areas of process improvement and efficiency
  • Excellent customer management skills; including sales, account management, and customer service
  • Strong ability to negotiate, discuss value and understand client needs
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills
  • Proactive approach with strong attention to detail and organization
  • Team player with a track record of building positive relationships with peers and others within a company

Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Possess solid negotiation skills that allow for value-based contract negotiations at all levels
  • Experience negotiating complex multi-year services contracts
  • Knowledge and experience in core Salesforce products: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Platform
  • Strong understanding of the Business Applications and Application Development marketplaces
  • Strong customer management skills
  • Knowledge of CRM providers, including salesforce.com a big plus
  • Experience working in or with customers in the Nonprofit or Education spaces
