Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for designing, developing and testing sophisticated software; delivering a world-class CRM (Client Relationship Management) software solution; ensuring that the Salesforce software at MathWorks optimizes investment in Salesforce, balancing business needs with technical complexity; spanning all aspects of the software development life cycle, including working alongside MathWorks business, development and user experience teams in a highly collaborative environment; understanding and evaluating business requirements in the context of MathWorks overall system solutions, including systems outside of Salesforce, including Eloqua, Oracle ERP, Custom Quoting and Licensing, and mathworks.com; performing gap analysis between business requirements and Salesforce functionality; developing overall solution design options and recommendations and considering pros and cons, including object structure, development of formulas, integration points, and needs for non-native functionality; participating in design review meetings and leading the evaluation of technical requirements and options; writing comprehensive design specifications, including functional specifications, solution design document, and technical design document; using Visualforce, Lightning Framework, Apex, API, SOQL, and workflows to configure, administer and develop within Salesforce; helping set technical standards and guidelines for Salesforce; participating in code reviews and providing feedback; staying abreast of the current and future Salesforce feature set relevant to MathWorks organization, in addition to general industry IT trends; and offering suggestions for adoption of forward thinking features and technology.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science and no experience.
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience implementing and maintaining Salesforce solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise developing RESTful web services using APEX to integrate Salesforce platform with existing software systems.
- Demonstrated expertise gathering business requirements and designing custom Salesforce solutions in Salesforce Platforms - Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud, and Lightning Platform - including writing Apex triggers, creating and deploying Lightning Web Components and Aura Components, and designing custom Visualforce-based solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce.com configuration; and writing database queries and scripts on SOQL or SOSL databases to extract, manipulate and save data.
- Demonstrated expertise developing software applications along the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, functional design, architecture design, implementation, and testing.
