PenFed is hiring a Salesforce Engineer I in San Antonio, Texas with remote options available. The primary purpose of this position is to perform complex technical analysis, design, development and support of new and existing applications on the Salesforce platform.

- Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining systems, application software and system management tools.
- Provide technical support for enterprise systems. Troubleshoot, repair and recover from system failures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation via the use of flowcharts, diagrams, and other relevant tools.
- Perform routine operational tasks, verifying the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all resources, systems, and key processes.
- Review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.
- Interact with senior engineers to identify areas of improvement for operational efficiency.
- Accountable for delivering all assigned tasks and projects.
- Comply with Security, Incident Management and Change Management procedures and reporting practices.
- Remain an active learner in technologies related to your domain.
- Work closely with technical and non-technical personnel within and across PenFed departments and vendors.
- Participate in on-call 24x7 support as needed in the event of system outage or failure.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
- In lieu of a degree, combination of education and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience is required that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform all the essential job functions.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Strong problem solving and analytic skills - Experience in Salesforce development with Apex, Batch, Trigger, Visualforce Page, SOQL, Test Class, Lightning Components, Integration with REST and SOAP APIs
- Scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, or Perl Functional and/or object-oriented programming languages such as java, jQuery, JavaScript, Classic ASP
- MS SQL
- Cloud based hosting solutions (AWS-EC2/ECS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Developing automation workflows and routines using open source tools (i.e. Selenium)
- Large-scale software implementation (high transaction volume, high availability concepts) Windows, Linux server automation and scripting
- General understanding of Network, Compute, Storage, and End-User technologies
- Install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve PenFed's operating environment. Maintaining the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, problems and planning for growth.
- Volunteers to undertake tasks that stretch his or her capability. Identifies who can provide support and procures their input. Identifies problems and acts to prevent and solve them.
- Investigates defined issues with uncertain but limited cause. Solicits input in gathering data that help identify and differentiate the symptoms and root causes of defined problems. Suggests alternative approaches that meet the needs of the organization, the situation, and those involved. Escalates issues with suggestions for further investigation and options for consideration.
