The Salesforce.org Solutions Engineering team is at the forefront of our entire Marketing technology landscape. This collaborative team works closely with sales, solutions and cross-business teams to uncover real business problems faced by customers and prospects and develops solutions and processes to not only overcome these obstacles but deliver phenomenal digital transformation. From workshops, white-boarding, presentations, demonstration and proof-of-concept builds, this team works closely with all areas of the business and all aspects of a wide technology stack.

Prior experience with enterprise technology selling in the nonprofit/education sector, and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the challenges and needs of the sectors are highly desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.

Your responsibilities:

  • As a Solutions Engineer, you will work hand-in-hand with the Sales team to introduce Salesforce Marketing & Advertising solutions to our customers. You will help prospective, existing customers and partners understand the power of Salesforce, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, and problem-solve any potential technical roadblocks.

  • Function effectively in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment.

  • Discover and analyse individual Salesforce.org customer goals and challenges and map those back into the Salesforce solution portfolio.

  • Design innovative solutions to address these challenges, conceive those solutions on the Salesforce platform and present customised story-driven demonstrations aligned with key business value and solution differentiation.

  • Present Salesforce Marketing/Advertising technology platforms (including Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Datorama, Social, CDP, Ad Studio, Interaction Studio) whilst demonstrating deep familiarity with Salesforce products, technology and security - across the entire product portfolio.

  • Plan and deliver Discovery Workshops with customers at all levels including business users, IT and executive leadership, tailoring your questioning and approach effectively to the audience.

  • Actively enable the broader Solution Engineering team and cross-functional distribution team to more effectively position the value of the Marketing solutions within the Salesforce portfolio.

  • Respond effectively to RFIs and RFPs.

  • Participate in training and certifications to acquire and maintain the knowledge vital to be effective in role.

  • Attain quarterly and annual objectives that you will define collaboratively with your manager.



Necessary Skills:

  • Proven verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team to tackle business and technical problems in varied political environments.

  • Experience as a technical Solution Engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Experience in Salesforce solutions and/or Marketing Tools and Technology.

  • Technical expertise in any of the following industries (digital marketing, enterprise data systems and analytics, business intelligence, web analytics, CRM, enterprise search and content management systems).

  • Knowledge of latest trends in web technologies and online marketing.

  • Technical skills in HTML, SQL and CSS needed, ideally deep understanding of mobile responsive web pages and emails.

  • Knowledge, interest or background in the nonprofit and/or higher education market(s).

  • Proven time management & prioritisation skills in a dynamic sales environment.

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, MBA, or equivalent work experience.
