Scholastic Technical Services is looking for a Director of Engineering for Salesforce.com to deliver and execute CRM capabilities on the Salesforce.com platform.
The Director of Engineering – Salesforce.com leads efforts to deliver best in class Customer Relationship Management Experience for Scholastic’s channels, including Education, Book Fairs, Trade and International. A successful director will have a passion for delivering high quality solutions that delight our end customers and business stakeholders as well as a knack for identifying and cultivating engineering talent.
This is an opportunity to manage multiple agile development teams delivering solutions leveraging technologies including Salesforce Sales Cloud, Spring boot, Reltio for Customer MDM, Java, Angular, REST/SOAP, NoSQL, Spring Boot, AWS/Cloud and Redshift, Tableau, and Adobe Experience Manager.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute technology initiatives based Scholastic Salesforce.com Roadmap Manage the Salesforce.com Platform and Applications Development teams within the engineering organization
- Responsible to manage in-house and partner teams working on Architecture and Design, Salesforce Development, Integration Development, Data Migration, Security Operational Readiness, Quality Assurance, Engineering best practices, Change management and Training.
- Become the leading expert on the technologies that drive business value through the CRM platform and how they are implemented (Data, processes, workflows, integrations, etc.)
- Develop a deep understanding of both the current and future state line-of-business needs and how those relate to technology by working closely with our business leaders as well as our technology organization.
- Own the solutions architecture, both in its current state and the changes to drive it forward in line with future business and technology strategy.
- Provide technical leadership with a focus on engineering and agile best practices
- Mentor software engineers and Tech Leads throughout their careers.
- Foster a culture of accountability and excellence
- Maintain high quality standards
- Collaborate with product owners, Quality Engineering, Tech Leads and other stakeholders
HOW YOU CAN FIT
- A successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 15 years practical experience in software engineering and application architecture.
- 5+ years platform experience of delivering solutions on Salesforce Sales Cloud
- Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA), highly desired
- Experience with implementing MDM solutions, highly desired.
- Expertise in using integration middleware, knowledge of AWS, Redshift, Kafka, Spring boot camel.
- Experience leading multiple agile engineering teams including a mix of onshore and offshore resources.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Ability to establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize activities, and follow through to completion.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability with a commitment to delivering high quality software that balance technical and business goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with a variety of audiences at all levels.
