Salesforce Engineer
As part of the Enterprise IT team for Distribution Business Unit, we are looking for a Salesforce Engineer who will be responsible for supporting, developing and enhancing our Salesforce applications.
The Salesforce Software Engineer will play a key role in strategic ongoing development and enhancement projects, related to support of the Salesforce.com CRM platform. This role collaborates with functional leaders from various business units to identify, define, and implement changes and enhancements that meet business requirements in a dynamic environment.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assist in the development and enhancement of John Hancock’s existing Salesforce implementations via both native metadata configuration and custom development using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Aura, Lightning web components and other external languages
Use Salesforce functionalities, as well as external tools as appropriate, to implement changes and new features
Work with Business teams to groom stories and consult with product owners on business requirements
Help to design, develop, test new Salesforce solutions and bug fix code.
Maintain lean documentation throughout the development process.
Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Retrospective, Reviews, etc…)
Participate in continuous delivery, optimization, monitoring, release management and support the end to end release process.
Evaluate new Salesforce releases and applications, participate in plans for their implementation, and remain current with Salesforce administration best practices
Log and track identified problems through to resolution
Collaborate with system administrators, consultants, other engineers, and analysts to uncover pain points with processes and identify optimization opportunities
Prototype and pilot new tools and features to help deliver faster, with less manual intervention
Promote agile principles and methodology, follow various engineering practices and approaches
Develop clean, maintainable, readable code that is scalable and secure. Participate in design and code reviews to ensure the same.
Design and develops pages, templates and components with which a content author interacts to build the desired user experience as communicated by the product owners
Promote and advance the use of site-wide style guides and template development
Resolve issues surrounding performance, response times, capacity and system limitations.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar field.
3+ years Salesforce Developer experience
5+ years of Enterprise development experience
Salesforce Development experience using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Aura, LWC, SOQL.
Familiarity with multiple programming environments and tools (e.g. JavaScript, CSS, JSON, HTML)
Exposure to REST based web services
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer credentials
Strong understanding of domain-driven design and application design patterns
Copado knowledge & hands-on experience
Mindset to design for processes that are efficient and solutions that are scalable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously
Exemplary interpersonal and refined relationship-building skills
Strong analytical thinking capabilities and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to understand new information and ideas and evaluate the impact on current processes
Familiarity with Agile methodology.
Willingness to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods
NICE TO HAVE/DEFINITE EDGE:
Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
Consulting Experience with Salesforce.com implementations, upgrades, integrations and customizations
Direct experience with related Salesforce platform tools like Checkmarx, Docusign, Spanning, Mulesoft, Informatica

$99,470.00 USD - $184,730.00 USDIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact [email protected] for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
