Brief Summary of Role
As a Salesforce Enterprise Cloud Architect within the Digital Experience Strategy Practice, focusing on Cloud and Digital technologies, in particular the CRM layer with a strong understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem, you’ll leverage your diverse experience with user experience, application, data and integration architecture to advise, define, document, communicate and implement strategic technology solutions. You’ll work directly with clients and must possess the ability to communicate to all levels of organisations, including c-level executives, senior management, end users, technical support staff, vendors, architects, consultants and developers. As our go-to architect, your ability to quickly comprehend the functionality and capabilities of new technologies will be paramount to your success in this role. This is a complex role that also requires stakeholder management, excellent customer focus and project management skills.
We seek a candidate with deep functional and technical knowledge and industry experience who can engage key business and IT stakeholders to identify business and technology challenges, develop solutions, and present recommendations that deliver tangible business benefits. This senior-level role will work with executives, senior managers and project teams to ensure overall project success.
In addition to devising optimal technical strategies and how best customers can implement and deploy technology components across the entire landscape driven from a digital / front office / CRM lense, the Enterprise Architect also plays a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, technical processes, release management processes, and data management. This person aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus is the business motivations, technical operations and business analysis frameworks and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The Enterprise Architect works to develop an integrated view of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry- standard techniques.
Responsibilities
- Advises, designs and architects technology solutions based on optimal integration and harmonisation with all other components of the customers enterprise, such as the Digital Experience layer (e.g. Web, CMS, Marketing, Analytics etc), eCommerce, Order Management, ERP, Financials, HR, HCM, Reporting/BI, Data layers, Integration layers (ESBs, ETLs) etc.
- Devises enterprise grade technology solutions factoring in all stakeholder types and marrying together aspects of business, technical, operational, governance, and user experience through digital touchpoints across the customer journey.
- Working with multiple stakeholders, identifies the most important client business and technical challenges, conduct analysis, and present strategic solutions that align to the corporate strategic goals and objectives.
- Builds and executes technical roadmaps in collaboration with client stakeholders, assesses current technology environment and target state candidate solutions.
- Works with team to identify architecture & technology pros & cons, high risk areas of solution and scalability.
- Serves as subject matter expert. Confident and willing to challenge a customer and guide the customer towards the appropriate solution for their needs and push back if a customer is asking for solutions that aren't in their best interest.
- Advises on optimal program structure, implementation approaches, release management strategies, and platform governance based on the various factors and scope of customers digital transformations; from the technology stack in scope, to multi-country deployment requirements.
- Collaborates with Sales during the presales/discovery stage to research and understand client business and technical challenges and drive towards value added solutions
- Supports and drives pre-sales including, advising & consulting, scoping, solutioning to delivery modelling & release sequencing, effort estimating, and helping building compelling and winning proposals including presenting effectively to senior customer stakeholders.
- Conducts and leads engagements with customers ranging from Platform Assessments and healthchecks, devise enterprise architecture, digital strategy and technology progam roadmaps, capability maturity assessments, Centre of Excellence strategy and design, as some examples.
- Functioning as leader within the organization and industry. Examples may include internal subject matter expert and evangelist, Community leader, speaker at industry events.
Education and Required Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minor in Business or MBA preferred
- 10-15+ years project experience with packaged software and Digital Solution implementations
- Experience in cloud technologies across the SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS stack
- Experience in building out industry specific and customer specific reference architectures
- Extensive and deep experience in one though ideally more Industries
- Ability to develop complex product-quality solutions and implementing development process standards to achieve this around DevOps: code management, quality control, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Platform standards and release management
- Experience in architectural frameworks (TOGAF, DoDAF, Zachman, etc)
- Strong understanding and knowledge across the Salesforce ecosystem, with main functionality and use cases across the product portfolio from core Clouds, through to Commerce, Revenue, Field Service, Experience Clouds, and Tableau, Mulesoft etc
- Demonstratable experience in prior Solution and/or Technical Architecture across some Salesforce Clouds and into wider customer enterprises
- Certification in Salesforce Administration and at least one Salesforce Cloud
- Knowledge and desirable experience in a Salesforce Industry Cloud e.g. Financial Services, Health, Manufacturing, Communications etc
- Deep experience in one or more domains / business process areas e.g. Lead to Cash, Sales, Service Transformation, Marketing Automation, Procure to Pay
- Ability to understand and articulate enterprise business processes and capabilities (from a business, functional and technical lense) and map them to solutions including Salesforce Clouds / modules / functionality as well as across wider solutions across the enterprise
- Experience designing and implementing mature DevOps models.
- Skilled in security architecture for authentication, authorisation and identity management.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration tools, and extract, transformation and load (ETL) tools preferred
- Familiarity and knolwedge in areas such as as AI, ML, IoT, Blockchain, Event-driven architecture. Experience is a bonus
- Experience with challenging current thought process and status quo of business and IT stakeholders regardless of the audience
- Enthusiastic, professional and confident team player with a strong focus on client success who can present effectively even under adverse conditions
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritise multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment, multi-task across pre-sales pursuits and delivery engagements, and ensure delivery of quality products
- Executive level presentation and communication skills and experience interacting with various levels of stakeholders
- Strong writing skills including the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise messages both for detailed analytical reports and executive summaries
- Located and able to work in Europe from a home office and able to travel up to 40-60%
