Responsible for the management of Enterprise Architecture across the Americas.
The primary responsibilities of the IT architect include:
- Owns the technical architecture in assigned area of ownership (definition, documentation, roadmap for current and future state, annual)
- Resolves technical issues in areas of ownership
- Ensures that all parts of the technical design are correctly incorporated
- Defines the development tools and environment
- Provides technical support and quality control through all stages of operations and projects
- Plays key roles in the selection, evaluation and implementation of necessary vendors and technologies
Collaborates with IT Teams and Key Vendors/Partners: Collaboration across all areas of I.T., Epson management, and Vendor engagement for various Technologies.
Principal Accountabilities
In addition to the following Epson's policies and procedures, principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Understands company needs to be able to define systems architecture and systems specifications
2. Understands present architecture and drives technological features that drive future architectures
3. Proposes practical strategies for leveraging technology as enablers for driving IT and Business value
4. Responsible for tracking the enterprise architecture portfolio and assists project teams to shape architectures consistent with platforms, roadmaps and standards for architect and design
5. Plans and designs the structure of a technology solution
6. Communicates system requirements to development teams and supports development and implementation
7. Evaluates and selects appropriate software or hardware and integration methods
8. Oversees assigned programs and provides guidance to team members
9. Assists with solving technical problems when they arise
10. Ensures the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure solutions
11. Addresses technical concerns, ideas and ongoing improvements
12. Monitors systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals
13. Develops and implements plans to facilitate and coordinate the delivery of technical services and support
14. Ensures acceptable levels of performance for IT systems to meet business requirements
15. Creates and maintains technical and operational documentation
16. Stays current with technological developments in the marketplace, new advances and features in technologies
17. Ensures systems maintenance plans are developed, planned, executed, tracked and adhered to
18. Engages in Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) processes related vendor and technology evaluations, recommendations and selections
19. Engages in the change control process aligned with policies and procedures
20. Status reporting in area, adhering to IT departmental guidelines, policies, security, compliance and co
