Function
D&T is significantly revising its operating model with main objectives to maximize value for Diageo business via enhanced strategic capabilities, simple workflow of tasks translated in teams that have clear ownership of deliverable along the value chain.
The goal of the D&T transformation is to deliver more (faster time to market, effectiveness of solutions, increased capacity) with the same costs and upgraded capabilities (we need to leapfrog from where we are)
About You
Our ambition is to be the digital leader in our industry and The Head of Solution Engineering and Salesforce Practice for the Customer domain plays a crucial role making this a reality in partnership with the Customer Enterprise Architect, product/project teams and strategic partners. The head of solution engineering and Salesforce practice will be the single point of contact on all process and technical aspects of Diageo’s Customer Execution, marketing and retail assets and lead the design of all our Customer/Commercial Execution products and solutions. He/She will be also in charge of supporting any other product lines (Supply, Procurement, Consumer) for any solutions requiring Salesforce as a technology providing right resourcing and processes.
The Customer Solution Delivery team has been leading the design and delivery of various products and solutions built for our Customers and Outlets, to drive our global physical, digital, and verbal commercial execution ambition in partnership with Other D&T Transform teams, Global Sales, A&I, Enterprise Architecture and Marketing Teams when relevant.
Key Accountabilities
- Shape the vision and technology roadmap for the Customer Execution domain in partnership with the Customer Enterprise Architect
- Lead the solution architecture and engineering practice for the Customer Execution domain
- Manage and oversee the solution architects and technical leads who will create the high-level product specifications and detailed design documents for the front-office products/solutions within the Customer Execution domain (Salesforce and Newspage)
- Manage and Provide guidance to development teams and support the delivery of the technology vision and roadmap across the Customer Product Line
- Provide thought leadership to challenge and influence all technical designs to best leverage the capabilities of our platforms,
- Ensure the build/delivery of sustainable, scalable, best practice solutions to meet and exceed customer needs
- Continually expand architecture knowledge, constantly seeking ways to broaden exposure to the latest and greatest trends and developments in the technology space
- Collaborate with our enterprise architecture team to satisfy the needs of the business today, while building capabilities for the future
- Incorporate the latest trends and innovations into the Customer ecosystem in partnership with enterprise architecture and business relationship management teams
- Ensure our technology investments and products are well integrated across the Customer Product line to maximize benefit, create efficiencies and lower support costs
- Assess the system architecture currently in place and working with EA, Transform and Run teams to recommend solutions to improve it
- Own the Salesforce platform governance, standards (code, release calendar and processes, deployment, delivery model…)
- Collaborate with Procurement to manage Strategic Partnership ie Salesforce (Contracts renewal, stakeholder management…)
Experience required/Skills/capabilities/Languages
- Significant knowledge and experience in Customer Execution (physical, digital and verbal channels), eCommerce, Marketing, and Retail, including key business processes and technologies
- Experience of solution design on customer focused digital services such as web, mobile, eCommerce and eBusiness
- Demonstrated ability to deliver integrated Business-IT strategy
- Ability to understand business needs and technical constraints
- Experience in developing solutions architecture artefacts
- Experience of Agile (or agile / waterfall hybrid) development practices and techniques
- Experience of working to tight deadlines in a technical environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to discuss technical design with business stakeholder and translate design concepts to IT operations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Agile mindset, pragmatic, hands on to make things happen
Architecture Skillset:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing fully integrated globally scalable omni-channel architecture
- Proven ability in designing an interconnected architecture that enables creation of insight driven experiences which can extend the right offer at the right time via the right channel
- Expert in bringing technologies like Salesforce, DAM, CMS and PIM together to create the right data and content foundations together
- Strong understanding of various market archetypes and related IT systems and technology
- Experience in designing DevOps processes and team involving multiple stakeholders
- Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions related to one or more of the following domains: Salesforce products, Cloud computing architectures, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure Cloud, microservices-based architectures, data transformation, DevSecOps methodology and automation
Technical Skillset:
- Proven experience with key technologies involved in an omni-channel Customer architecture,
- CRM (e.g. Salesforce)
- SFA applications (e.g. Salesforce Sales Cloud)
- Customer Service/ Contact Center (e.g. Salesforce Service Cloud)
- Online Portal/Webstore (e.g. Salesforce Commerce Cloud)
- Marketing Campaigns Solution (e.g. Pardot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
- Experience with key foundational content and data systems,
- CMS (e.g. Salesforce CMS, Umbraco)
- LMS (e.g. Docebo, Sumtotal…)
- PIM/DAM (e.g. Sitecore, StyleLabs, Stibo Systems)
- Demonstrable experience in working with Customer Data Platforms and Customer Loyalty Solutions
