Information Technology Department Overview
The core aim of Information Technology is to provide other departments across the business with the software they need to work as effectively as possible. This covers a wide variety of projects, from developing tools to help with the design, validation and visualisation (both GIS and graph) of our network, to developing automated systems to streamline business processes and improve customer experience. Being Agile is key to what we do: the business is evolving quickly, and we are working closely with other teams to assist them in various projects. This gives us plenty of room for taking initiatives and making a difference.
We are organised in Scrum teams with a mix of developers and QAs, and work in close collaboration with the Product Owners to ensure that the tools that we develop deliver the most value to the business. We are committed to delivering software of high quality, which we believe starts with delivering high-quality code and architecture, systematic code reviews, testing and deployment automation.
Since the start of the COVID-19 lockdown we have been working remotely, and we are likely to keep working remotely at least some of the time for the foreseeable future. For those that prefer or need to be office based, our offices are COVID secure. We believe in creating a friendly, diverse, supportive and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on personal development through code reviews, developers’ meetings, mentoring and training.
Purpose of the job
As a Salesforce Administrator within our Business Support Systems team you will play an important role in helping to manage our Salesforce system and support users across the business. You will be responsible for day-to-day systems administration tasks, manage requests for salesforce minor changes, design reports, manage significant data changes and support our users by giving guidance and training where needed. You will work closely with the rest of the Salesforce team and business stakeholders to ensure our system is secure, robust and meeting business needs. Our team will support you in fulfilling your potential and you will have the opportunity to undertake training and development from within the team and through formal Salesforce courses and certification.
Key Accountability & Responsibilities
  • Managing Salesforce users accounts, user roles and permissions
  • Creating, managing and modifying reports and dashboards
  • Managing bulk data changes and supporting other users of data loader
  • Monitoring licences, storage and usage
  • Managing creation, deletion and modification of custom fields, sharing rules, workflows and page layouts.
  • Monitoring team email and creating tickets for new requests
  • Managing refresh of sandboxes
  • Managing backup and restore system, restoring data if required
  • Supporting salesforce users with ad-hoc requests and training
  • Documenting standard processes and process changes
  • Understanding and monitoring API usage
  • Support and configuration of integrated Salesforce systems such as Pardot and Field Service Lightening
Knowledge & Skills 
Required
  • Experience: at least 2 years working in Salesforce Administration role
  • Team-working skills

Nice to have

Qualifications & Accreditations
  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent business experience
  • Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM201) with ADM211 desirable
