 This position may be located at any of the offices within First Interstate Bank's six state footprint, including Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming.

 SUMMARY
 The role of Software Developer II is to design, analysis, and assist on current development efforts for the organization integration, programming, and development of projects and to resolve complex business problems. Specifically, development on the current Salesforce platform.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.
  •  Research, develop, document, and test enhancements / bug fixes for the current Salesforce applications.
  •  Define transformation rules for source to target mappings and develop the software components to support the transformation.
  •  Ensure all software/integrations developed for migration of production data is developed, controlled, and tested to the same quality level as production software.
  •  Review project plans, develop, and test specifications; perform data analysis.
  •  Participate in design and code reviews.
  •  Recommend and drive standards and methodology for creation, capture, maintenance, and integration of data.
  •  Analyze, evaluate, and recommend system changes, configuration and enhancements based on business requirements of critical processes and applications.
  •  Independently make decisions based on mastery knowledge level of supported applications and related business processes.
  •  Lead meetings and deliver presentations to small and large groups of various levels of management across the organization.
  •  Lead medium project efforts and independently support project work.
  •  Extensive knowledge / certification regarding Salesforce development (see Education and / or Experience section)
  •  Ensure proper segregation of duties and source control management through tools such as GitHub to manage Git repositories and / or Mercurial
  •  Experience with Apex and the Salesforce Lightning Design Platform

 QUALIFICATIONS

 Required Salesforce Certifications / Qualifications
 JavaScript Developer knowledge, skills, and experience developing front-end and/or back-end JavaScript applications for the web stack. Applying these skills to any framework are not mobile or device specific.
 Platform Developer experience in developing custom applications with APEX and Lightning Components. Proving an understanding of platform behaviors, limits, and performance considerations to meet a variety of business requirements.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field from four-year College or University and 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration as well as object-oriented design patterns and development required. Strong understanding of relational databases and integration required. Experience with bank applications and software administration experience.

 Prior Salesforce Development experience – 3 years’ experience preferred but now required.

 OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain objective and professional at all times. Must be a self-starter. Ability to work independently or with a team. Ability to properly prioritize workload as well as the workload of subordinates and remain adaptable under pressure. Must have strong organizational and analytical skills. Must possess a solid balance of technical and business knowledge. Must possess skill mastery and aptitude to easily take on new applications. Must have the ability to provide oversight and guidance to other developers regarding the Salesforce application(s).

 Experience in project management and code repository software. Experience with relational database architecture and models (Microsoft SQL). Experience with requirements gathering and documentation. Experience with an integration development environment. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written format. Must possess strong algorithm development experience. Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate, and influence an organization in a positive manner. Experience working within agile methodologies. Banking/Financial Services experience is desired.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS
 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

 REASONING ABILITY
 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to have clear vision at 20 inches or less, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
