Salesforce Software Engineer

Location: Remote Canada

Job Description:

This job requires a self-starter with the ability to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced collaborative environment. Someone who has strong application development, writing, collaboration, and communication skills. The focus will be on creating, maintaining, and improving our Salesforce applications that enable our customer success. Additionally, thrive in an environment that is highly collaborative in nature across various functional and department boundaries. Our team strives to build purpose in our work while at the same time questioning the status quo and having fun in the process.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for engineering, designing, implementing and testing Salesforce solutions—including writing specifications, design/layout, coding, agile team principles and leadership

• Working with customers to help refine requirements and develop to those requirements

• Taking impactful features from idea to implementation

• Champion standard methodologies and guide and influence team on using such practices

• Communicate status, risks to schedules, and offer mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery of all committed projects across the delivery teams

• Elegantly bring designs to life using standards-compliant dynamic HTML, CSS, and Lightning

• Brainstorm and prototype new concepts and approaches fast, turning prototypes into real things

• Work with product manager to meet the demands of our customers, while continuing to innovate far beyond the competition

• Build positive relationships across the business, that may be used to produce better products and solutions

• Teammate in a highly collaborative environment

Qualifications:

• CS degree (or equivalent experience) and 6+ years experience as a software engineer

• 3 years experience developing on the Salesforce platform, APIs and Apex

• Worked previously with any of the following JavaScript frameworks: React, jQuery, Angular or similar

• Experience with front-end web UI debugging (Chrome dev console)

• Experience with Test Driven Development

• Able to design and write well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented code that balances beauty and pragmatism

• Expert knowledge of Object Oriented (OO) design patterns such as MVC

• Knowledge and/or experience with Salesforce Lightning platform (Lightning/Aura components)

• Deep understanding of web standards & technologies such as HTTP, REST and JSON

• SOQL

• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, and Perforce/GIT

• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology

• Experience with automation, test strategy and passion for quality

• Passionate about web development and up to date with the latest developments in your field

Desired experience:

• Experience working in Extreme Programming working environments and/or Mob Programming

• Experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC)

• Experience working at-scale by reusing components and code to push apps out fast
