Position Description
CGI has an immediate need for a Deputy Product Owner (Salesforce Analytics, Tableau) to join our financial services team in one of our selected CGI locations. Due to the current COVID-19 status, candidates will not be required to work within the physical work location at this time. When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, they will be required to be located within the proximity of the assigned CGI location.

Position Description
CGI has an immediate need for a Deputy Product Owner (Salesforce Analytics, Tableau) to join our financial services team in one of our selected CGI locations. Your future duties and responsibilities
- Assist the Product Owner in developing a vision for a product, based on user research and discussions with stakeholders, being clear about direction and gaining support for your views
- Act as subject matter experts alongside the developer teams, giving clear messages about what needs to be done and explaining the user needs behind delivery
- Convey enthusiasm for products, leading teams to understand the meaning behind services and acting as a motivating force
- Maintain excellent communication channels with all business areas
- Act as a single point of contact for the product in the absence of the Product Owner.
Research and backlog
- Help to undertake research to define user needs
- Help to run user testing and collate feedback
- Help provide business analysis functions, such as process mapping, to aid with process design and improvement
- Prioritizes needs and, with the rest of the team, develop this into a backlog
- Assist in defining the minimum viable product and feature set
- Act as peer reviewer for user stories by assisting with preliminary estimation of work, writing acceptance criteria and indicating deficiencies in product backlog definitions
- Assist in maintaining a product backlog through clear prioritization of stories, working with developers and others to create user stories and acceptance criteria
- Consistently and effectively communicate progress against the backlog to others, raising risks as necessary
Scrum
- Support scrum teams within Agile methodology, acting as a driver for the team and a hub of user knowledge
- Encourage a culture of innovation within scrum teams, acting as a hub of ideas to allow developers to find new ways to solve problems
- Empower developers and other team members to make appropriate decisions within scrum teams, ensuring decision-making happens at the right level
- Take an active part in the four major scrum ceremonies, leading by example in being efficient, open and honest
- Support and take part in retrospectives to improve the performance of scrum teams
- At times of challenge, support the product owner to make the necessary decisions to ensure that the product can be delivered, reprioritizing as necessary
- Foresee, and highlight early, delivery risks so that these can be unblocked as a team
Work with users
- Act as the voice of the user throughout agile delivery, taking every opportunity to spend time with users and understand their needs
- Work with user researchers to find the best ways of mapping user needs, building personas so that the whole team can understand who they are building for
- Build networks of users, working with them to test new software features and understand how they could be improved
- Provide exploratory testing around delivered user stories to highlight any regression issues, raise bugs and provide feedback on further prioritization of work to the product owner
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 4-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Tableau
- Previous Salesforce delivery experience, both Classic and Lightning
- Previous project management experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly assimilate, willingness to learn new technologies, proactive entrepreneurial spirit, and reliability
- Ability to interact with customers and coworkers, and demonstrate respect and responsiveness; Strong team player
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Willingness to travel to client sites and internal meetings
- Experience working with mortgage industry is a plus
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
One or more Salesforce.com certifications (Salesforce Admin), or Trailhead Ranger-level desired
SAFe Product Owner certification desired
