World Learning/School for International Training/The Experiment in International Living seeks a Salesforce Developer to evaluate and develop technical solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The Salesforce Developer will support, build, and upgrade information management tools and customer facing software solutions as well as participate in determining integrated, multi-disciplinary solution recommendations for resolution of technical problems.


Responsibilities

  • Supports our Salesforce instances by developing/maintaining code for our Communities and Lightning Apps
  • Designs and implements technical solutions aligned with best practices that meet organizational needs
  • Carries out hands-on development of code to address software bug fixes and business feature development
  • Uses product specifications with consideration for system integration and feasibility
  • Stays current with major trends and information technology approaches and tools
  • Reviews needs and participates in short and long-range planning related to business objectives
  • Helps develop and maintain standards for coding and handling code, including source code control
  • Participates in code reviews to ensure compliance with engineering best practices
  • Participates in the development and execution of software and system test strategies
  • Participates in oversight of software development activities and DevOps team objectives which may include developing software acceptance criteria, generating recommendations to the Applications Team, cross-system integration, and post-delivery support of software-based systems
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Required Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical thinking skills and strong attention to verbal and written detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent patience and commitment to a collaborative team environment
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the location where this position is offered;

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in programming object-oriented languages and experienced with one or more of the following: Salesforce Lightning Components (Aura Components and LWC), Visualforce, Apex, SOQL

Desired Behaviors/Competencies:

  • Experience in Salesforce instances EDA and/or NPSP
  • Exposure working with cross platform integrations and APIs
  • Experience in SQL
  • Familiarity with CICD pipelines
  • Relevant experience working in a not-for-profit, educational, or international organization
  • Understanding of Salesforce Administration tasks and setup from a Salesforce developer’s point of view
