About the Role
The Salesforce Developer will be responsible for designing and developing customized solutions within the Salesforce platform. Responsibilities include coding new Salesforce applications, creating business and process workflows, maintaining security, and troubleshooting errors in applications. You will also meet with the internal Salesforce team and IT leadership to ensure planned functionality and work with other functional and agency leads to identify, develop, and deploy new business processes (including integration with other applications.

About the Role
The Salesforce Developer will be responsible for designing and developing customized solutions within the Salesforce platform. Responsibilities include coding new Salesforce applications, creating business and process workflows, maintaining security, and troubleshooting errors in applications. You will also meet with the internal Salesforce team and IT leadership to ensure planned functionality and work with other functional and agency leads to identify, develop, and deploy new business processes (including integration with other applications.
Responsibilities:
- Lead customer-driven solutions utilizing strong technical design skills and strong working relationships with internal groups. Perform surveys of the Salesforce system, creating options for problem resolutions. This may include meeting with different groups, for example, to discuss the particulars of the design versus the code setup or mapping the utilitarian necessities to Salesforce's usefulness.
- Meets with agency project managers and IT leads to determine CRM application needs. Lead workshops for different groups in the organization that provide a current state assessment and identify any gaps in the present framework.
- Tests the stability and functionality of applications within Salesforce, including validation of coding, design, upkeep, establishment, and investigation of issues.
- Designs, codes, and implements Salesforce applications.
- Maintains the security and integrity of the application software. Validates there are no potential security issues or risks with system enhancements or new applications being deployed.
- Create/modify existing controllers, controller extensions, and triggers across all platforms.
- Integrate multiple systems with Salesforce, including internal proprietary and third-party applications.
- Manage Salesforce.com data feeds and other integrations.
- Ensure service level availability of the Salesforce platform and integration applications and provide on-call support for break/fix/enhancement activities to resolve application issues.
- Manage day-to-day support of internal Salesforce operations and lead long-haul improvement activities to integrate with external agency's IT initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Requires three (3) years of experience and advanced proficiency with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and custom applications.
- Experience working with a Salesforce implementation team is required.
- Requires two (2) years of experience with application and software development, including developing customer-facing interfaces.
- Experience and expertise in core web technologies including HTML5, XML, CSS, JavaScript, AMPscript, and jQuery required.
- Software engineering skills with Salesforce Platform (Apex, Eclipse, Visualforce, SOQL, MySQL, Lightning, Native, Platform Builder, Unit Testing, S-Controls, AJAX, Analytic Snapshots, Custom Objects, Marketing Cloud) required.
- Experience with design and development of Web Services and Integration using Salesforce SOAP/REST API and Apex Web Services required.
- Experience with Email Studio, Journey Builder, Data Extension, Automation studio, triggered sends, Content Builder, and Contact Builder required.
- Experience with Salesforce tools like Eclipse, Force.com Eclipse IDE Plug-in, Force.com Explorer, Force.com Data Loader, Force.com Excel Connector, Force.com Platform (Sandbox, and Production) QTP, WinRunner, QC, Bugzilla, Load Runner and/or Sandbox testing required.
- Experience with database tools (e.g., Force.com DB MySql, Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11g, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/ 2008, DB2, Java DB) required.
- Experience with Web Design tools (e.g., Visual Studio 2008/2005/2003, SQL Query Analyzer, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Tortoise SVN, MS Office, Visio 5.0, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Flex Builder, Code Smith, ReSharper) required.
- Strong experience working with ETL tools like Data Loader and/or Informatica is required.
- Working knowledge of Source Control and/or GitHub required
- Familiarity with Apex, Ajax, C, C++, Java, DHTML, SQL, and Perl is required.
- Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration, as well as object-oriented design patterns and development required
- Software engineering skills with Java SE & EE (Java, JSF, SQL) preferred.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, RUP, other)
- Certification/Training preferred in the following areas:
- Salesforce Administrator and/or Developer certification
- Agile and/or Scaled Agile
- Six-Sigma
- Experience in integrations between Salesforce and other tools/systems as well as an ability to facilitate design sessions to architect such integrations preferred.
- Experience with implementing solution architecture preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering or relevant experience
